RealFest 2000 Needs Bands
By Matthew Toledo - 7/27/2000
The third annual RealFest is in the organizational stages. Event vice president Jeremy Darwin Foltz recently contacted the AMN stating that they "need more press kits and CD demo's from local bands."
The one day festival will be held in August and is centrally located in between Columbus and Athens just outside of Lancaster. "RealFest!" offers a diverse variety of musical talent from within the local areas and abroad. The main purpose of RealFest! is to support local musicians and the idea of the event is to give local bands a chance to perform for a large audience of all ages and musical preferences. In previous years, the number of audience members has averaged around 2,000 strong.
Event chair, S. Dean Woodgeard told the AMN that they are still looking for vendors and corporate sponsors. T-shirt vendors, food vendors are more than welcomed to contact him at realfest@frognet.net

Bands selected to perform will be amplified through a 25,000 Watt PA system provided by Structural Damage and Dewey Decibel. Over 90,000 Watts in lights with fog and a true spotlight will be provided. The stage is approximately thirty feet wide and twenty four feet deep. More specifics about the event can be found at the RealFest homepage.
The gig does not pay much. However, there will be several club owners from around Ohio present to hear your act. Bands will also receive free food and beverages. Regardless of the pay. the exposure should be fantastic and the event should be a blast.
If your band is interested in playing the event then send Mr. Foltz your demo by the deadline on August 10th.
Please send press kits and demos (no tapes please) to...
