The Billy & Brucie Show Reunion
By Maggie Brown - 4/18/2003
For over a decade the Billy & Brucie Show was the classiest live music showcase in Ohio. The show served as an outlet for local talent, regional acts and national performers. At $2.00 a head, it offered the best entertainment value anywhere.
Billy & Brucie will reunite this Saturday night, April 19th 2003, as part of Baker Center Nights and ACRN's Coffeehouse Concert Series in the Front Room.
This is the perfect chance for those who missed out on Billy & Brucie's 12-year run to experience the fine guitar playing and insightful lyrics of two of Athens' most influential and insprirational musicians.
Since the show's end, Billy Rhinehart has taken his artistry beyond his music and into his instruments. Founder of Rhinehart Guitars, Billy uses his talent to buildhand-caved, hand-painted electric solidbody guitars. Viewing these pieces takes your breath away and hearing their sound is stellar.
Bruce Dalzell, April's AMN Artist of the Month, has worked for years as host of various open mic nights.contributing to the successful performance of artists, whether first-timers or veterans. He's known for closing the nights by taking the stage himself and lighting up the emptying room with his playing. His album is quite appropriately titled "The Sound of One Fan Clapping." He doesn't play for a crowd, he plays to an audience. He has a way of coming past the microphone and connecting with each person.
The talent is unrivaled. This show is not to be missed.
