The Athens Area Sustainability Festival seeks organizers and coordinators for its 2003 event on October 11 & 12.
Help is sought in the areas of theater, film, music, dance, visual arts, poetry, outdoor recreation, citizenship, local history, tourism, recycling, alternative energy, environmental protection, economic justice, health and wellness, sustainable agriculture, public transportation, sustainable forestry, alternative homes construction, small business development, community development, self-sufficiency, independent media, intentional communities, alternative currency, cooperative games for children, festival logistics, security, workshop coordination, and coordination of volunteers.
Especially needed (and right away!) is an ACCOUNTANT to help the Festival with its books and budget.
The Festival is an annual grassroots community event organized through consensus by volunteers working year-round in interest groups. We celebrate and showcase small businesses, organizations, individuals, and initiatives in the Athens area that are dedicated to building community identity rooted in the principles of sustainability, self-sufficiency, and people-based development.
If you would like to work, play, and network with a great group of people, or just learn more about the Festival, please call 448-1016 evenings between 5-9 p.m., or send email to isbalkits AT yahoo.com. The group meets twice-monthly now and will begin meeting weekly in the summer.
