Susie's Interview with BloodThirster's John Sava

By Susie Black - June 6, 2006

Hey kids! Welcome back to the Susie's Super Scene Report. This here is part three. I have an interview with the skinniest and most evil dude in the Athens metal scene: John Sava. Here goes thine interview.

SB: Hey Sava-nation, how you been?

Sava: I've been pretty good just hanging out listing to some metal and I recently went up to Cleveland to see Morbid Angel and Behemoth play a sweet show.

SB: Keepin' it evil?

Sava: Ha! Yeah, Susie, you know how I keep it.

SB: Gnar bra. To business, and a real interview: I've come to understand that 4th plague changed their name. What's the new name, and why'd you change it?

Sava: Yea rumor has it we did change our name, we changed our name to BloodThirster, we changed it because we actually thought the name 4th plague was pretty lame and needed to have something better to kind of give what our music is a edge. Plus if you like War Hammer then you'll like BloodThirster.

A BloodThirster is a demon lord in the role playing game, Warhammer.

SB: Who's the most evil dude in the Athens scene?

Sava: Please Susie I don't even have to answer that. I'll leave that one for everyone else to think about.

SB: How big is your dick?

Sava: Hmm, how big is my dick? Bigger than yours.

SB: Shit boy, my dick weighs more than you! Do you like it gay?

Sava: Of course I like it gay who doesn't like it gay these days?

SB: I sure do. Ok, seriously, what are your top five metal albums?

Sava: Damn, Susie! I'm going to give you my top ten instead.

  1. 3 Inches of Blood - Advance and Vanquish
  2. DEATH - Scream Bloody Gore
  3. At The Gates - Slaughter of the Soul
  4. Morbid Angel - Alters of Madness
  5. Decapitated - Winds of Creation
  6. Suffocation - Despise the Sun
  7. Iron Maiden - Killers
  8. Immortal - Sons of Northern Darkness
  9. Death Angel - The Ultra-Violence
  10. Iced Earth - Night of the Stormrider

SB: My top five bands:

  1. DEATH
  2. Iron Maiden
  3. Kreator
  4. Nuclear Assault
  5. Annihilator

Sava: I cant believe you only asked for a top 5. I like so many--I just chose a few.

SB: If a hippie dies in the woods, where no one can hear them, would you consider them ever alive?

Sava: Hell yeah! Hippies are pretty cool.

SB: I never trust a hippie. I had sex with your lady-friend. What do you got to say to that?

Sava: She came back and told me how small your dick was.

SB: If "evil" is equal to E and pretty is equal to "P" then BloodThirster would be calculated by E times 234 divided by P times zero plus the square root of seven, correct?

Sava: Damn, where did you get that from? That's crazy. But yeah, I guess that's correct.

SB: Do you believe in ghosts?

Sava: I believe in some good metal.

SB: How about vampires?

Sava: Yeah, sure.

SB: Is this the dumbest interview you've ever heard of?

Sava: Yeah, it's pretty fucked up, but I dig it.

SB: Ok, last question: give me some upcoming shows dates, recording dates, or any news and promotion of your band.

Sava: Ok. First of all we have a show coming up at Newport Music hall May 21st. It's a show where they chose a few of the best bands in Columbus and they are showcasing them. We also have some shows at the High Five in Columbus. The first is on June 17th.

We are recording at John Shwab Studios in Columbus right now. We threw out a lot of 4th Plague old stuff and started over and have found a really good, melodic meets thrash meets death metal sound. Also, we have a couple new band members--we got rid of a couple from 4th plague when we started up BloodThirster.

If you want to get a hold of us, visit our myspace page or our purevolume page or send us an email.

SB: Thanks John. You heard it here first. John Sava keeps it evil and loves it gay.
