Our guitarist almost died in a car accident this weekend. Evidently, he was riding in the passenger seat of a car going 120 on a back road. They came close to wrecking, or slammed on the breaks and wrecked durring the deceleration. I'm not sure of the details because I can't find his myspace blog just now. My connection at work is flaking out. It is so flakey that it will be a miracle if this post actually makes it online. Anyhow, Kenny is allright, although he may have whiplash.
About a week ago, I had some free time to write some songs and try out the recording software that came with my USB pre-amp. In plain english: I used a day off from school to record some lo-fi recordings with my digital recorder. The goal was to write some disposable songs so that I could practice mixing and mastering. I ended up spending 8 hours on 2 songs. At the end of the day, I was so proud of the tunes I had come up with that I was ready to send them to Sony. Now that I have had a few days to think it over. The stuff I came up with fufilled it's original intent and nothing more. They are trully crappy songs. Who knows, if I come up with some other stuff, I may share it on this blog. Here's a point of pride, I suppose: I brought my self to sing on the recording. I didn't like the way my voice sounded by itself, so I ended up adding a total of 7 vocal tracks. In the end, I sounded like a choir. It was pretty cool, actually.
