| Fat Pocket | Funk philled original and a few fun covers. Ergonomically correct music for the new millenium. [ mail: josh -|at|- thebluegator.not_part_of_the_address.c0m ] [ 8 Concerts ] |
| Fate Hates Us | Fate Hates Us is not as evil as the name lets on. FHU is distinctly unique, and can best be described as a jam-based sound with dynamic vocals, intense lyrics, and a stage solidity that makes mind reading seem possible. The five piece band line-up is as follows; vocals, rhythm/lead guitars, sax, bass, and drums. Drawing influences from John Mayer, The Pat McGee Band, Vertical Horizon, The Dave Matthews Band, Paul Simon, Pearl Jam, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Phish, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and various others, FHU’s style is all it’s own. | Ferocious Gnomes | Just remember, just like gnomes, Ninjas are everywhere. [ 1 Song ] [ 3 Concerts ] [ 1 Photo ] |
| Fine Dining | Fine Dining plays loud guitar-based rock and roll music, but it's pop music at its core. Indie rock darlings like Pavement, the Shins and Pixies show a major influence, as does the classic Beatles style. We hope for a diversity of style wide enough that we can play the Union and the Donkey with equal facility — that is, to have an ability to fit on just about any bill. Lots of people compliment the riffs, but we'd rather be known for writing great songs. | Flinch | Music ranges from light to experimental punk/rock with melodic bass lines. These fun 4 guys create upbeat music that will stick in your head. Having played at numerous places around Ohio, Flinch is now trying to establish themselves in Athens! [ mail: flinchmail *@* yahoo(.)c o m ] [ 6 Songs ] [ 30 Concerts ] [ 6 Photos ] |
| The Free Range Pickers | The Free Range Pickers perform a style of swing music, drawing upon the western swing music of Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys and more modern bands like Asleep at the Wheel. The Free Range Pickers perfrom songs about chickens, cows, and love with music that is upbeat and humorous, that may be described as something between bovine boogie and cowboy jazz. Hot Club of the Chicken Pen is a hopeful description suggested by Chris Ridgway, guitarist and vocalist for the band. Chris also plays mandolin, Julia Farver plays fiddle, guitar and harmonica, and Ken Parker has been playing upright bass to create a sound reminiscent of the western swing and early rockabilly bands of the 1940's and 1950's. | Future Me | Playing energetic shows and rocking the socks off of hundreds of Athens and Columbus music lovers, Future Me has gained a surprising following. With a guitarist from Marietta, a singer from Orville, and a rhythm section from Newark, an unlikely combination united at Ohio University in late winter of 2001. Lets just say the music of Future Me is like Incubus, Foo Fighters, Tool, and Weezer trapped in a dark room with Jimi Hendrix delivering the mail and Stevie Ray Vaughn working the grill outside.
