Denovo Denovo has a string of influeneces -- from DC bands such as Jawbox, Shudder To Think, and Hoover to the late-90s Midwestern sounds of Lincoln and Indian Summer to some late 70s/early 80s groups like The Police. However, each member definitely brings his own personal influences to the table and these often convene to form something truly unique. People also often hear the likes of At the Drive-in, Q and not U, and Drive like Jehu in Denovo's work. Denovo has performed with: Les Savy Fav, Pretty Girls Make Graves, The Paperchase, The Red and The Black, Explosions in the Sky, The Beautiful Mistake, and more.

Devon Sproule "The nimble singer-guitarist Devon Sproule chronicles her ongoing love affairs with humanity, nature, and the state of Virginia. She performs with a sweet, round diction that shines through even her most ornate imagery and rambunctious melodies."-- The New Yorker, 5/2007

Disengage 81 out of 100, Tack Maeda / BURRN! March 04 issue -- The sound style is basically updated US mainstream heavy rock, however they have succeeded in emphasizing their own hardcore influenced straight ahead aggression and it is so great... I must say it is really impressive when I can hear the contrast of high tensioned extreme sound and dark melancholic melody.

Don Caballero Don Caballero is essentially from Pittsburgh. You got it, three rivers. Don Caballero II, their second for Touch and Go, was recorded by producer Al Sutton at White Room Studios in Detroit. It was actually in a white room. Their first LP, For Respect, was recorded in Chicago by Steve Albini. Yeah, Don Caballero is instrumental, what's it to ya? Most don't realise that fact until they're told. They have been since their inception in 1991. Their first two singles were as a trio! Yeah, you're sayin' "instrumental." Well not on this album. They are more rock orientated than jazz, though many have said the contrary. The drums are the lead, while the guitars drive the beast. Emphasis on structure and composition, not to prove how accomplished they are, but to kick it. Don Caballero bare all their yellowed teeth, including fangs, on this one. Put it in, keep it in, and for chrissakes, turn it up NOW!
