Great shows this weekend! 9th - THE SNAILS/THE DRAGLINE BROS./THE SPEED KNOBS (These fine local acts aren't playing out every weekend - catch em while you can - this will be a good one!) 10th - FINE DINING/MEN OF GENTLE BIRTH/THE HUSHER/LAND OF BURIED TREASURE!!!! (A doozie of a show, if I may say so. I think most of you are familiar with FINE DINING and MEN OF GENTLE BIRTH, if not please introduce yourself to them on Friday at the show! 2 great local acts! opening the show (thanks to a li'l help from our friends at THE AQUABEAR LEGION...)will be THE HUSHER (great band featuring our pal DONOVAN - ex-BOB CITY, GRAFTON, WHITEOUTS, etc) and from the depths of the aquabear legion LAND OF BURIED TREASURE (a newer project from the brilliantly twisted mind of Nate! (y'know, Nate from Small Object a..) it's gonna be good! 11th - DANCE OR DIE!! (pretty much Voted Athens' best thing - that involves DANCING and MAKING OUT while DRINKING in public - and it only happens here - so if you haven't, by all means check it out.) Tomorrow is an awesome Andrew Weiland fest. With Mike Elliott. Then Friday is an awesome bands-influenced-by-Pavement fest! With a drunken heavy rock band too! Hooah! And Saturday, you can dance, dance, dance. After you go to the free ACRN show, of course. |

Bump. Bump. Oooohhhh doggy! I am really excited for Thursday's show. I have never actually gotten a chance to catch the Speedknobs, so I am stoked to see them. And of COURSE, the Dragline Bro.'s and The SNAILS are two of my favorite bands, so... this is going to be a sweet show. See you all there!! |

stacks v. villians-- someday, someday. i'm pretty sure you're going down if you let andrew anywhere near a bottle of booze. i saw him teeter a few times awhile back, head back and eyes closed. i think you should let aaron v. off the hook as the overhead-jelly-pusher (or is that kid panda hands, anyway) and he can just stand on stage and hold up andrew. hahahaha. i kid, i kid. can't wait for the snails/dragline/speedknobs show tonight! |
